How your membership supports the Council's work.

The Connecticut Humanities Council helps to ensure that throughout our lives, each of us has the chance to capture the wisdom of the world's great stories.

Our initiatives for young people and families are almost 100% reliant on private funding.  Your donation to the Friends of the Humanities helps us coordinate these activities and provide training and gifts of children's books to the human service organizations, early child care centers, public schools and libraries that host our reading programs.  Private gifts also help underwrite innovative heritage resources that benefit young learners, such as the expansion of our Online Encyclopedia of Connecticut History.
