Bland, James Edward. "The Oliver Wolcotts of Connecticut: The National Ex­perience, 1775-1800." Doctoral dissertation. Harvard, 1970. Oliver, Sr. died in 1797 while he was governor; Oliver, Jr. was governor of Connecticut from 1817 to 1827. This dissertation covers their Revolutionary careers.

Dilger, Robert J. "Oliver Wolcott, Jr., Conspirator or Public Servant?" CHS Bulle­tin 46(July, 1981 )3:78-85. Attempts to demonstrate that, though opposing and working against Adams' reelection in 1800, Wolcott operated in the open and maintained mutually respectful relations with Adams.

Schmauch, Frederick Hugo. "Oliver Wolcott: His Political Role and Thought be­tween 1789 and 1800." Doctoral dissertation, St. John's University, 1969. A sound, scholarly study which shows that Wolcott tried to work with John Adams but became disgusted with the President by 1800. A study ofWolcott's politics during the administrations of Washington and Adams.
