Groce, George C. "Benjamin Gale." New England Quarterly X(December, 1937)4:697-716. Dr. Gale was a political gadfly active as a pamphleteer and Killingworth deputy in the late colonial period. He retired during the Revolution, but pursued scientific interests and helped Bushnell with his submarine.
