Cantor, Milton. "The Life of Joel Barlow." Doctoral dissertation, Columbia, 1954. This is a full-scale work covering all aspects of Barlow's life. Heavy political and diplomatic emphasis. Literary activities are attended to, but not fully de­veloped. An excellent work. See the extensive bibliography.
