people.
Burpee,

The American Historical Co., 1939. Volumes 1 and 2 are general
history; volumes 3 and 4 are personal and family records, in
which
there are hundreds of biographies, ranging from 300 to several
thousand words each. The biographies are straightforward and
informative,
though somewhat laudatory. Many illustrations.
Chadwick,
Earl Leslie. The Conservative Advocate: a Book of Biographies
of Connecticut's Successful Men, with Essays on Conservatism
by Well Known Writers. Hartford: E. L. Chadwick, 1909. To
show the success of "conservative men." This is obviously
a one-sided presentation.
